Dallas man arrested following stabbing

A Dallas man was taken into custody following a knife incident in Melbourne’s CBD this morning.

Police believe a man, armed with a knife and acting erratically, ran through a shopping centre carpark on Lonsdale Street at about 6am.

Two bystanders chased the man south along Elizabeth Street, before detaining him near the intersection of Lonsdale Street.

Police arrived and took a 32-year-old Dallas man into custody.

A 41-year-old Maddingley man who was involved in the incident, received a stab wound to the lower body.

He was transported to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

A second person involved in the arrest, a 35-year-old Sanctuary Lakes Man, was uninjured.

Police have increased patrols around Melbourne’s CBD following the stabbing on Little Bourke Street.
