Three teachers swapped their classrooms in Indonesia for Epping’s St Monica’s College last week.
The teachers were part of the Australia–Asia BRIDGE School Partnerships Project, which connects Australian teachers, students and school communities with their counterparts across Asia.
During the week-long stay, the visiting teachers stayed with their St Monica’s counterparts and helped teach some classes.
Principal Brian Hanley described the visit as a “unique opportunity to exchange valuable experiences”. “I certainly hope they can take new skills back to their classrooms and I’m sure we will learn from their input,” he said. “This is a continuance of a mutually beneficial and long-term relationship with our visiting Indonesian friends following an inaugural visit early in 2016.”
St Monica’s also welcomed Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture teacher development directorate secretary Sotya Mayangwuri, who observed the program.
