Mental health and the importance of self-care will be front and centre at Craigieburn Central this week.
Representatives from headspace will be outside Target today and Wednesday to provide information and chat about mental health and wellbeing.
The space has been set up to support conversations around self-care and volunteers from headspace’s youth advocacy group will be supporting participants to explore the small steps that young people can take every day to integrate self-care into their lives.
“The past year has been especially difficult for everyone, and that includes the young people in our community,” a spokesperson for headspace Craigieburn said.
“It has never been more important to focus on caring for our mental health, taking the time and energy to evaluate our social supports, maintain a healthy physical lifestyle, and take time away from the rush of modern life.
“If you, or a young person you know, is having a tough time or needs to talk, reach out – to your own positive support networks, or mental health services, such as headspace Craigieburn.”
headspace Craigieburn is part of the nation-wide headspace network and provides services for young people and their families to support their mental health and wellbeing.
Young people aged 12 to 25 can access headspace services, including counselling, work and study support, family support and general practitioners, for free.
