Craigieburn road closures update

As works continue on Craigieburn Road, Craigieburn motorists can expect delays in the area across September and into early October, with public transport also impacted.

Closures along Craigieburn Road are scheduled between Hanson and Bridgewater roads from 8pm on Friday, September 16 to 5am on Friday, September 23 and between Bridgewater Road and Aitken Boulevard from 8pm on Monday, September 26 and 5am on Monday, October 3.

Motorists should allow for an additional 20 minutes of travel time when travelling through the affected area to account for detours across the Hume Highway, Mickleham Road and Somerton Road heading south or Mt Ridley Road to the north.

Buses on routes 525, 528, 529, 532, 533, 537, 541, 544, 390 and 953 should also expect delays due to the closures.

Crews will be working around the clock and Craigieburn Road is scheduled to stay open over the Grand Final long weekend.

During these closures, crews will relocate and install drainage, water, signals and power utilities between Hanson Road and Aitken Boulevard.

The entire Craigieburn Road upgrade is scheduled for completion by 2025.
