Craigieburn Road closures

Sections of Craigieburn Road will be closed for 12 days from later this month, as part of a spring construction blitz.

The closures will coincide with the school holidays when less vehicles are anticipated to be on the road.

Craigieburn Road will be closed between Hanson and Bridgewater roads from 8pm Friday, September 16 to 5am Friday, September 23.

It will then be closed between Bridgewater Road and Aitken Boulevard from 8pm Monday, September 26, and 5am Monday, October 3.

Detours will be in place, with alternate routes including Mount Ridley Road to the north and Somerton Road to the south.

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) has advised motorists to expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

The closure will allow crews to complete four months’ work in 12 days, according to MRPV.

During the closures, crews will relocate and install drainage on either side, install signals, and power utilities along Craigieburn Road between Aitken Boulevard and Hanson Road.

The blitz will also include the construction of critical infrastructure including 30 trench crossings across Craigieburn Road and adjacent streets.

MRPV program director Dipal Sorathia thanked motorists for their ongoing patience.
