Craigieburn educator recognised

Craigieburn educator Shamanpreet Kaur has been honoured for her dedication to children’s early learning after being named a regional award winner in the 2025 excellence in family day care awards.

Ms Kaur is registered with the Choice Family Day Care Scheme and was recognised as the northern suburbs educator winner for her commitment to providing quality care in a nurturing, home-based environment with choice family day care scheme.

Now in its 14th year, the awards program celebrates the unique benefits of family day care.

Ms Kaur said she is feeling proud of her achievement.

“I’m feeling very proud and very happy to be recognised,’ she said.

Family Day Care Australia chief executive Andrew Paterson praised Ms Kaur’s achievement.

“Educators like Shamanpreet demonstrate an incredible level of dedication and care that makes family day care such a valued choice for families,” he said.

“Her commitment to providing a nurturing and enriching early learning environment reflects the very best of what family day care has to offer.”

The 2025 awards attracted nearly 5000 nominations from families, services and community members across the country, shining a light on the role educators play in supporting more than 71,000 children nationwide.

As a regional winner, Ms Kaur is now in the running to be named a national finalist for educator of the year, with the four finalists to be announced on Tuesday, September 16.

The overall winner will be announced at the FDCA national conference gala dinner in Melbourne on Saturday, October 25.
