It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Hume.

Throughout November and December, the council’s Christmas in Hume advent calendar is full of free activities and entertainment, with pop-up gardens, decorations, music and food trucks, prizes and giveaways, a community Christmas light competition and live-streamed carols.

Santa and his team of elves have been busy decorating the city with colourful decorations and residents are encouraged to visit pop-up Christmas gardens at O’Shannassy, Brook and Evans streets in Sunbury, Civic Plaza in Broadmeadows and Craigieburn Central courtyard.

The Sunbury Village Green water fountain and Town Hall Broadmeadows will light up in red and green during the festive season.

Although the traditional Hume Carols by Candelight cannot proceed as normal due to COVID-19 restrictions on large public gatherings, the event will be live-streamed on YouTube on Saturday, December 5 from 6.30pm.

Live music and food trucks will be at the Hume Global Learning Centre Sunbury on Sunday, December 20 between 11am-3pm for family and friends to enjoy a picnic.
