Contribute to community awards

Whittlesea is taking expressions of interest for new members to join the community awards committee.

The community awards recognise residents who have made outstanding contributions to the community while providing a special opportunity to celebrate locals who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others.

Anyone who lives, works, or studies in the Whittlesea municipality is encouraged to submit an EOI for a chance to contribute to celebrating the achievements of local legends, celebrating the young, the old, and those investing their time to access and inclusion as well as a sustainable environment.

Community Awards Committee chairperson Mathew Bui highlighted the strength of the committee’s members.

“It’s been humbling to share this experience with those on the committee including award recipients and councillors who are committed to recognising those in our community and celebrating achievements,” he said.

Whittlesea Mayor Cr Martin Taylor added the awards provide a unique opportunity for those involved.

“Joining the Community Awards Committee is a unique opportunity to help us celebrate and honour the people who make the City of Whittlesea such a special place to live, work, and study,” Cr Taylor said.
