Construction to start soon on Merrifield West Secondary School

Construction will begin soon on Merrifield West Secondary School, Yuroke MP Ros Spence has announced.

Ms Spence said the school principal is expected to be appointed by term two this year, while the school’s boundaries will be published later this year to help with enrolments.

The school is expected to open on day one of term one in 2023.

The first stage of the school will include an administration building with a library; learning neighbourhood, science and materials technology buildings; a community hub with a competition-grade court, canteen, music, drama and food technology teaching spaces; and four outdoor hard courts plus a sports field.

“It will be an outstanding modern school for local families and I’m looking forward to it shaping up,” Ms Spence said.
