Have you, your child, or someone you know been impacted by bullying at school?
Now’s your chance to help drive national change.
The state government is calling on parents, students and teachers to share their experiences as part of a bold new Anti-Bullying Rapid Review aimed at tackling the issue head-on in Australian schools.
Launched by the state government, the Anti Bullying Rapid Review is set to play a key role in developing a national approach to bullying in schools – one that is informed by lived experience and grounded in evidence.
“I have long been a strong supporter of the anti-bullying message and I really encourage people in our community with a lived experience to provide a submission to the Review,” McEwen MP Rob Mitchell said.
The Review, led by Dr Charlotte Keating and Dr Jo Robinson AM, will consult widely with stakeholders from both metropolitan and regional communities–including educators, students, families, parent associations, state education departments and the non-government school sector.
All submissions will contribute to a clearer understanding of what works – and what doesn’t – when it comes to addressing bullying behaviour in Australian schools.
“Bullying has no place in our schools. Students, teachers and staff should feel safe in our schools,” Mr Mitchell said.
“That is why we are taking action to develop a national standard to address bullying in schools.”
“The review will listen to parents, students, teachers and staff to develop a national strategy that is grounded in evidence and informed by lived experience.”
Submissions are open until Friday, June 20, and can be made anonymously.
