Northern suburbs’ residents are being given the chance to choose the new colour scheme for the Blaxland Avenue overpass on the M80 Ring Road.

The overpass is being upgraded as part of works to improve the M80 between Sydney and Edgars roads.

Transport Infrastructure Minister Jacinta Allan said the upgrade will deliver a great result for the community.

“The M80 upgrade is a state-shaping project which, once complete, will provide safer and more efficient journeys for more than 165,000 cars and 22,000 trucks every day,” Ms Allan said.

“We’re pleased to be able to give local residents, businesses and freeway users the opportunity to have their say on the look and feel of the upgraded Blaxland Avenue overpass.”

The overpass is set to be extended to allow for new lanes on the freeway underneath, with its support towers being painted the vibrant new colour the community chooses.

Residents, businesses and users of the overpass can choose between Banksia, Bright Lime and Kikuyu, which have all been selected to fit into the overall urban design of the project.

You can have your say until Sunday, February 21 at 11.59pm.

Voters can choose their favourite colour by visiting engage.vic.gov.au/m80-upgrade or by sending a SMS to 0499 073 073.
