The DPV along with the South Asian community in Whittlesea have created a project “Let’s Bring Change Together” to combat family violence and encourage people to seek help.

Together with Red Hat Films, the DPV and 27 community members produced a video to educate locals about family violence and promote the importance of feeling safe at home.

The event was held at Galada Community Centre in Whittlesea with a performance by locally based South Asian troupe, Bollywood Fusion along with a speech by DPV Health CEO Don Tidbury.

“DPV Health continues to address family violence in our community,” he said.

“As part of the Let’s Bring Change Together project, a series of resources have been developed, including videos, audios and printed resources focussing on family violence prevention and supports. These resources, which are available in English, Hindi and Punjabi languages, are important to raising awareness of preventing family violence.”

The project will be expanded to include other communities within the local government area.
