Collision sends three to hospital

Three people have been taken to hospital following a motor vehicle collision at Oaklands Junction on Wednesday morning.

Paramedics responded to calls about 7.05am.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) paramedics, as well as an air ambulance attended the scene.

Three people have been transported by road ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Oaklands Road is currently closed in both directions between Craigieburn and Somerton roads, with warnings to avoid the area,

It is believed a white Utility, a white Isuzu truck and a blue Isuzu truck collided on Oaklands Road about 7am.

The male driver of the utility was taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries.

The male driver of the blue Isuzu was taken to hospital with serious injuries and his passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the white Isuzu truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are investigating after three vehicles collided in Oaklands Junction this morning.
