Rhyan Osmond is bravely about to give his much-loved mullet the chop and donate his luscious locks to the Kids with Cancer Foundation, Wigs 4 Kids Campaign.
Rhyan, 12, said he was inspired by a friend who cut his hair for charity a couple of years ago, and has no excuse to not help out.
“I’ve got the hair, so I thought why shouldn’t I do it too?” he said.
Rhyan said he has been growing his mullet out for three years, but is happy to part ways with it for a worthy cause.
“I might grow it right back, maybe, maybe not,” he said.
“Not only will my lovely locks be used to make a wig, donations to the cause will allow Kids with Cancer Foundation to continue with their financial support of families that have a child suffering cancer.
“I’m looking forward to helping out kids who need it, and it’ll make me feel good too.”
‘The big chop’ will be taking place on Sunday, February 4 from 2pm at the Broadmeadows Sporting Club.
There will be live music and raffles, and everyone is urged to come and join in on the day for a fantastic cause.
Rhyan has a goal of $2750, and has currently raised just under $750.
