Chickens escape amid blaze

A shed fire caused 100 chickens to get out on the loose in Coolaroo.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) was alerted of on Kyabram Street, Coolaroo at 4.35pm on Sunday.

The fire involved a five metre by five metre shed totally involved in fire which had then spread to the house and a neighbours nine metre by 10 metre shed, which contained 100 chickens.

The chickens escaped the shed and were running free in the street.

Ambulance Victoria also attended for a male with lacerations to the hand and a female with minor smoke inhalation.

The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters.
