Charges laid for illegal dumping in Woodstock

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has laid 10 charges against a person in Woodstock following an investigation into the dumping and burning of industrial waste on an unlicensed property.

The EPA alleges the person received industrial waste, contravened the duties of a person receiving industrial waste, contravened the duties of a person depositing industrial waste, contravened an Environmental Action Notice, contravened an Information Gathering Notice and hindered an authorised officer.

The person was charged by the EPA on June 27 and will face Broadmeadows Magistrates Court on August 17.
