In a touching tribute, the Carlton football club will play tonight’s AFL game against the Hawks in honour of 14-year-old Ben Bachmann who tragically died recently while training for the Greenvale Football Club.

Ben’s shock death has left family, friends and the wider football community devastated, highlighting the indelible mark he has left on people during his short life.

Known for his unwavering passion for the Blues, Ben’s legacy as a devoted supporter will be celebrated on the big stage, reflecting the deep bonds forged within the football community.

Carlton captain Patrick Cripps, along with teammates Jacob Weitering and Sam Walsh, took to social media to share a heartfelt video message.

The moving gesture was posted by the Greenvale Football Club, with the trio offering their condolences while highlighting Ben’s profound love for the game.

During the message, players Sam Walsh and Jacob Weitering said they wanted to send their deepest condolences to Ben and his family.

While Blues Captain Patrick Cripps stated, “if there’s anything the Carlton Football Club can do let us know. I know he loved the Carlton footy club and playing with his mates at Greenvale.”
