A fire at a Mill Park house on Saturday was likely caused by unattended candles, according to Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV).
Firefighters were called to the Romano Avenue house just before 9am, following multiple calls to triple-0.
Firefighters found black smoke coming from a single storey residence when they arrived on the scene.
Crews declared the fire under control within 20 minutes of arriving.
The occupants of the house self-evacuated before firefighters arrived, FRV said.
Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police supported firefighters at the scene.
