Campbellfield recycling plant fire under control

A fire at a Campbellfield recycling factory is under control after more than 30 Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters responded to it this morning.

A call to Triple-0 reported the fire at 6.20am, and crews arrived at the Northbourne Road scene within six minutes.

FRV said crews found a stack of recycling materials in a waste compactor was well alight, with flames five metres high.

All workers at the site were safe and accounted for, according to FRV.

The fire was brought under control at 6.40am.

Victoria Police also attended the scene.

WorkSafe and the Environment Protection Authority Victoria have been notified of the incident.
