Campbellfield man dies after falling from moving car

A man has died after falling from a moving car in Campbellfield at the weekend.

Police allege that prior to the fall, the 20-year-old Campbellfield man had been sitting on the tray cover of a white Commodore ute as it was driven along Cambridge Way about 6pm on Sunday.

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.  He died in hospital on Wednesday night.

The driver of the ute, a 19-year-old Broadmeadows man, was arrested and released pending enquiries.

The incident is being investigated by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.
