The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is reminding voters in Whittlesea’s Lalor Ward that they have until 6pm on Friday, August 1 to vote in the postal by-election.‘
Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel said voters need to post their compketed ballot paper before 6pm on August 1, noting noting local clearance times may vary,.
Voters can also drop off their ballot pack at their council’s election office before 6 pm, August 1. The election office is at Unit 12, 63 Ricky Way, Epping.
Any voter who still hasn’t received their ballot pack should call the VEC immediately on 131 832.
The election office will be open for extended hours on Thursday, July 31, until 8 pm.
Voting is compulsory for voters who were on the state and council roll at 4 pm Wednesday, May 21. Voters who don’t vote may be fined.
