Provisional results from the by-election in Whittlesea’s Lalor Ward will be known from next week.
Voting in the by-election closed at 6pm on Friday, August 1.
There were 11 candidates vying for a spot on Whittlesea council.
The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) said provisional results would be available from Monday, August 11.
Lalor Ward voters had to elect a new councillor after the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) voided the result of late October’s local government election for the ward.
In May, VCAT ruled that a vote tampering scheme in Lalor Ward during the October 2024 election had impacted the ability of residents to cast their vote.
