The Whittlesea Community Activity Centre will host a bushfire scenario event on October 10 at 6.30pm.
In partnership with the CFA, Whittlesea & Surrounds Fireguard Group, the City of Whittlesea and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA).
The aim is to bring together the community to discuss and learn how to respond to unexpected emergencies that may occur in the local area, well in advance of the upcoming Bushfire season and possible El Nino weather event.
The CFA will present a ‘Bushfire Scenario’ and the community will be invited to speak about their current emergency plans, hear from and ask questions to a panel of experts (including Victoria Police, VICSES, Council representatives, Dept. of Education etc.).
The night will be full of important information including where to evacuate to, how schools and aged care facilities will respond in the event of a disaster, and how to best protect pets during the summer.
