Buses replace trains on the Craigieburn line this weekend

Train passengers in Craigieburn, Broadmeadows, Roxburgh Park, Coolaroo and Jacana are told to allow extra time when traveling this weekend as buses replace trains along the Craigieburn line.

The planned disruptions will start on Friday, October 3 at 8.30pm and run through until 4am on Saturday, October 4 for maintenance works.

Buses will run between North Melbourne station and Craigieburn, offering full services, limited services and limited express services as buses depart every 30-60 minutes.

Replacement buses will service all stations, including Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park, Coolaroo, Broadmeadows and Jacana, with a shuttle service operating between Jacana and Glenroy stations.

Train services will resume between 4am on Saturday, October 4 before bus replacement services take over again at 8.30pm on Saturday night, running through to 4am on Sunday, October 5.

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) has advised commuters to plan ahead, as journeys are likely to take longer than usual.

Passengers with accessibility needs are encouraged to contact their local staff for assistance, or speak to staff at replacement bus stops.

Standard travel rules for buses apply, meaning conventional bicycles, surfboards and animals are not permitted on board, with the exception of service dogs or those kept in carriers.

Details: visit the PTV website or use the PTV app.
