Hundreds of people are expected to flock to Yuroke’s Buddhist temple in search of positivity and happiness this weekend.
The Tibetan Buddhist Society is holding its annual spring festival at the Peaceful Land of Joy Meditation Centre and is encouraging people to visit the centre and its temple to better understand Buddhism.
The open day will feature speakers from the Tibetan, Korean and Japanese traditions who will explain Buddhist philosophy and meditation methods, and there will be conducted tours of the temple and its gardens.
Children’s storytimes, meditation sessions, a photography exhibition, market and an outdoor cafe are also on the program.
Society director Rebecca Skelton says the open day experience can help people find ways to become happier, more relaxed and enhance their lives.
“This vibrant festival offers something for everyone, from those exploring meditation, wishing to enjoy the beautiful gardens or to learn about the traditional Tibetan temple and the ancient culture of Tibet,” she said.
The spring festival at 1425 Mickleham Road, Yuroke, is on November 5-6 from 9.30am-5pm.
