Broadmeadows train station operational after fire

The cause of a fire at Broadmeadows railway station remains unknown.

Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters attended the scene about 4.12pm on Thursday, June 3, and found a switching room on fire.

The fire was brought under control about 4.56pm.

There were no injuries.

A Metro trains spokesperson confirmed the area damaged by the blaze has been cordoned off to passengers by temporary fencing.

Platform two, which had been closed to passengers, was cleared for use at 7pm last night.

The spokesperson said FRV crews are still investigating the cause of the fire, however it is believed the blaze was accidental.
