Broadmeadows shooting charges

A Roxburgh Park man has been charged following a shooting in Broadmeadows last month.

Emergency services were called to Pascoe Vale Road about 3.45pm on Sunday 28 September following reports a man had suffered a gunshot wound.

A 22-year-old Meadow Heights man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition, according to police.

Police said the Roxburgh Park man, 26, was arrested at Coolaroo Railway Station by Protective Services Officers from Transit Safety Division on Wednesday 1 October about 4.30pm.

He was charged with attempted murder, intentionally causing serious injuries in circumstances of gross violence, assaulting police and prohibited person possessing a firearm.

He was remanded into custody and will appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 8 January.

At this stage police will allege parties involved were known to each other and the incident was targeted.
