A Broadmeadows man who was encouraged by his wife to check his TattsLotto ticket to see if he had won anything was flabbergasted to discover his $1.8 million windfall in the weekend’s draw.

The Melburnian held one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4409, drawn Saturday October 21.

Each division one winning entry took home $1,818,181.82.

He was at work this morning when he received a phone call from lottery officials confirming his newfound fortune.

“I’m in disbelief,” he laughed.

“My wife checked her TattsLotto after dinner last night and she realised she didn’t win anything, so she told me to check mine.

“I told her that I would check it later in the night, but she kept persisting that I check the ticket

“I decided to scan the ticket on The Lott app and my heart started racing. She looked at me and said, ‘What? What?

“We couldn’t believe it. We were in so much shock.”

The winning couple have already started brainstorming plans for spending the winnings.

“We’ve already started to talk about buying a house and have been looking at real estate,” he revealed.
