Crafting a fitting tribute to family violence victims

Barbara Ryder and Judy Lund are former victims of family violence who are keen supporters of Hume council’s campaign for White Ribbon Day.

They belong to a group called Crafty Sisters, the members of which have knitted hundreds of white ribbons that will be displayed across Hume on a giant two-metre ribbon.

Their ribbon mirrors the symbol of White Ribbon Day, which was held last Wednesday to draw attention to male violence against women.

The Crafty Sisters meet twice each week at the Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre and welcome new members.
