Quarantine centre builder found

Fleetwood Limited has secured the construction contract for the 1000-bed Mickleham quarantine centre. The principal contractor of the Centre for National Resilience in Melbourne, Multiplex, has selected Fleetwood as one of several suppliers of modular buildings that will make up the facility. Under the arrangement, Fleetwood will build modular accommodation units as part of the delivery of the first 500 beds by the end of 2021. Fleetwood chief executive Bruce Nicholson said the company was delighted to be playing a key role in COVID-19 pandemic response.
