Boy tried to intervene during home invasion

Police are continuing their investigation into a violent home invasion in Roxburgh Park on Wednesday morning in which two males were injured.

Police have been told three armed men entered the Maisie Court address about 4.40am on November 15.

The men confronted a 44-year-old man inside the house, assaulting him to the head and upper body with knives.

A 16-year-old boy living in the house attempted to intervene and sustained a hand injury.

During the altercation, the three intruders threatened the occupants with a firearm and it’s believed a shot was discharged inside the property.

The men then left the property and fled from the area.

The 44-year-old man was rushed to hospital by paramedics in a critical condition, while the teenage boy was later taken to hospital by a family member.

Four females and a boy who were also home at the time of the incident were unharmed.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police believe the incident to be a targeted attack, however motivations remain unclear.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam/CCTV footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
