Boy, 13, assaulted at Manor Lakes basketball court

A 13-year-old boy was assaulted at a basketball court in Manor Lakes on Saturday evening, after a group of youths demanded his phone.
Police are investigating the assault, which occurred in Eureka Drive just after 7.30pm.
Police said the boy, who was accompanied by a female, was approached by about 10 youths. One of the youths demanded the boy’s mobile phone.
Star Weekly understands that afterwards, around three of the offenders punched and kicked the boy.
The offenders fled the scene after they were disturbed by two witnesses, who came to the boy’s assistance.
The13-year-old boy, from Wallan, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police are still investigating the crime and have not yet made any arrests.
