Books, bills and big savings: Yarra Valley offers financial help at local libraries

Borrow a book, slash your water bill – and get expert advice, all in one visit.

Yarra Valley Water is popping up at libraries across Craigieburn and Lalor throughout May and June, helping customers manage their bills and access savings up to 50 per cent.

The initiative invites locals to stop by their nearest participating library to speak with the water authority’s financial support team.

Staff will be available to assist pension and concession card holders with bill discounts, and eligible customers can also apply for up to $650 in Utility Relief Grants.

Flexible payment options, including direct debit, extensions and tailored plans, will also be on offer for all customers.

Yarra Valley Water chief financial officer Natalie Foeng said the events aim to make support more accessible.

“We know times are tough, and we’re here to help,” Ms Foeng said.

“Our team can often assist on the spot with concessions or easier ways to pay – just drop in and have a chat.”

Pop-up events will run at Craigieburn Library, May 8 and May 15, 5-8pm and Lalor Library, June 4 and June 18, 10am- 1pm.
