Sharing $2.5 million between 15 people doesn’t sound too shabby.
For members of the TattsLotto syndicate Big Bonanza, that just became a reality, but they might not even know it yet.
Fifteen Bundoora players were among the eight division one wins in TattsLotto draw 4233 on Saturday, 12 February – and TattsLotto is urging players to check their tickets in order to claim their booty.
In addition to winning division one, Big Bonanza’s System 7 entry boosted the overall haul to almost $2.6 million, with each member receiving a share of $170,000.
These lucky ticket holders bought their shares at the Bundoora Centre Newsagency on Plenty Road and owner Michael Mertzanidis said he relished the outlet’s latest division one victory.
“We’ve had about 25 division one wins in 24 years, and our last five division one wins have been syndicates,” Mr Mertzanidis said.
“We have great customers who love syndicates and we seem to have a bit of success.”
There were other big wins across Melbourne’s north, east and south-east too – with a total of 30 Victorians now $170,000 richer.
There will be more to win in the coming days, including tomorrow’s Oz Lotto offering $10 million and Thursday’s Powerball $80 million to name a few, so there’s a lot to be said for entering as a syndicate through your local TattsLotto outlet.
“I’ve already spoken to some of the regulars in the syndicate and it’s such a bright light in their lives given what everyone’s had to go through for the past two years,” Mr Mertzanidis said.
“They’re almost in tears, they’re just so happy. Some have home renovations plans, while others are paying off a few bills and getting ahead.
“I love it when a syndicate wins!” he said.
