Big Group Hug is calling on the community to unite and help provide essential items for a clean, safe, and comfortable festive season for children in Victoria.

The not-for-profit group has launched its “A Clean and Comfy Christmas,” campaign, as it tries to ensure that no child goes without the essentials they deserve.

Every year, Big Group Hug extends a helping hand to more than 3000 families across Victoria by supplying the essential material aid for children, up to 16.

This Christmas, Big Group Hug is specifically seeking new toiletries for all ages, single bed linen, and cot and bassinet linen.

Big Group Hug manager Maria Quigley has outlined a number of ways to contribute to an important cause this Christmas.

“Run a goods drive – Inspire your family, friends and colleagues to donate essential items for local families, and help provide a clean and comfy Christmas,” she said.

“You can choose to collect items over a month, a week, or even just one day.

“A goods drive is a great way for your family, school or office to come together, give back and make sure that every family has the chance to thrive.”

“People could also donate funds as a business or an individual to support families in need this festive season or ask family and friends to make a donation as their gift to you.”
