Attempted child abduction in Tullamarine

Hume detectives are looking into an incident involving an attempted child abduction in Tullamarine on Wednesday, November 27.

Officers were told an unknown man driving a white van approached a 14-year-old girl walking along Spring Street, asking her to get in his vehicle at about 5.45 pm.

The victim did not comply with the man’s demands and made her way to a nearby park where other people were present.

It is understood the man drove west on Spring Street before performing a U-turn and driving east on Broadmeadows Road.

When the victim arrived home, she told her mother who called the police.

The man is described as being Middle Eastern in appearance, about 50 years old, with a thick accent and driving a white van.

The investigation remains ongoing.
