Arrests after alleged carjacking in Dallas supermarket carpark

Five people have been arrested following an alleged carjacking in Dallas on Sunday.

Police say a Craigieburn man, 46, was sitting in his car in a supermarket carpark on Blair Street when he was approached by two men soon after midnight.

The men, who were both carrying firearms, exited a nearby vehicle and demanded the Craigieburn man get out of his car.

Police said the two men then drove off in the victim’s Mercedes while another car followed.

The Craigieburn man was not injured during the incident.

Four men and a woman were arrested by members of the Special Operations Group at a property on Tylden Place, Westmeadows, about 4.30pm on Monday. Two firearms were seized during the arrest.

A 27-year-old Dandenong North man was charged with aggravated carjacking and remanded to appear at Melbourne magistrates court today.

A 19-year-old man, also from Dandenong North, was charged with firearms offences. He has been remanded to appear at Broadmeadows magistrates court today.

Two men and a woman were released pending further enquiries.

The Mercedes was recovered.
