One new COVID-19 case has been linked to the City of Hume cluster.

The case is part of 14 locally acquired cases announced today.

COVID-19 response commander Jeroen Weimar said the case, as well as 10 other cases, was in quarantine for the entirety of their infectious period.

Premier Daniel Andrews said “the trend is with us” for running the most recent outbreak to ground, which has put all of Victoria into lockdown until Tuesday, July 27.

Mr Andrews said it was “difficult for us to say” if restrictions could ease next week.

“It’s very difficult for us today, on Friday, to be able to predict what will happen next Tuesday at midnight,” Mr Andrews said.

“But I would say that the trend is with us, these results are very encouraging, they’re positive.

“What I am certain of though is that if everyone keeps playing their part, if everybody takes this lockdown seriously… if we do the right thing, we’ll get the right outcome.”

Forever New at Craigieburn Central, Mimi’s Chicken & Grill at Craigieburn Junction, and Freshplus Craigieburn on Craigieburn Road have been added as tier two COVID-19 exposure sites.

Anyone who visited Forever New on Thursday, July 15 between 5.25pm and 6.03pm, Mimi’s Chicken & Grill on Monday, July 19 between 2.25pm and 3.15pm, or Freshplus Craigieburn on Monday, July 19 between 2.10pm and 2.55pm, is advised to get tested urgently and isolate until they receive a negative result.
