Update: Sixty-seven of today’s 176 coronavirus cases have been connected to metro Melbourne’s northern suburbs.

Health Minister Martin Foley announced that seven cases each were connected to Broadmeadows and Roxburgh Park.

“The truth is that, as the Premier indicated yesterday, we have rising case numbers, and we all need to be increasingly on high alert to the risks that go with increasing transmission of COVID0-19,” Mr Foley said.

Mr Foley said that coming forward and getting tested was “the most important thing you can do.”

Earlier: There have been two additional tier one COVID-19 exposure sites identified in Hume.

The health department has listed Broadmeadows Family Health Care on Camp Road and Kasr Sweets, Coolaroo, on Somerton Road as tier one exposure sites.

The department said anyone who visited Broadmeadows Family Health Care on Tuesday, August 24 between 2.35pm and 4.20pm is required to get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days from exposures.

The same advice applies to anyone who attended Kasr Sweets, Coolaroo, across multiple dates and times.

The department has also listed Specsavers at Broadmeadows Central as a tier two exposure site.

The department said anyone who attended the site on Saturday, August 28 between 10.40am and 11.40am is required to get tested urgently and isolate until they receive a negative result.

Victoria recorded 176 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 today, and 83 are linked to known outbreaks.
