Children from Epping Preschool were paid a visit by the Epping Road Upgrade team with model track loaders and child-size safety vests in hand to learn all about building roads.

The team visited the school for an hour of construction-themed activities and gave children the chance to test their skills lifting toy building blocks with the brightly coloured loaders.

They also learned about the works being done as part of the Epping Road Upgrade project and how the preschool will be informed at all times of upcoming disruptions and ensure safe access for children, parents and staff throughout the course of the project.

Trips to Epping Preschool will be made safer and easier with the upgrade providing the preschool with direct access to an additional lane in each direction on Epping Road and improved walking and cycling paths bordered by new safety banners.

Major Road Projects Victoria Program Director, Adrian Furner said that the team really enjoyed their visit to Epping Preschool and teaching the children about roadworks in a fun and interesting way.

“Spending time in the community and keeping people up to date with what’s happening on the upgrade is a strong focus for our team,” he said.

The upgrade is due for completion in 2025.
