Hume is a hub for weapons and explosives offences, recording the most in the state, according to recently released Crime Statistics Agency figures.
The City of Hume recorded 860 weapons and explosives offences in the year to September 30 last year, with Brimbank coming in second at 773.
The number of offences has almost tripled over the past four years, climbing steeply from 317 in 2011.
Hume also took out the top spot for arson offences, with instances jumping more than 30 per cent to 217, up from 165 in 2011.
