A Thomastown man has been charged with sexual assault and stalking after an incident on a bus in Thomastown last month.
The charges follow a report to police that a man approached a woman at a bus stop on Alexander Avenue about 9.50am on November 10.
It is alleged the man made explicit comments and followed the woman onto a bus before sexually assaulting her.
An 82-year-old man was arrested following the execution of a search warrant on Wednesday.
He was interviewed and charged with sexual assault and stalking and was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in April next year.
Investigators thanked the community and the media for their assistance with the matter.
