Motorists have been warned of lengthy traffic delays on the Metropolitan Ring Road in Thomastown after a multi-vehicle crash.
Initial information suggests two sedans and a four-wheel-drive collided on the Metropolitan Ring Road near Dalton Road at Thomastown shortly before 4pm.
The 4WD rolled on its side, blocking two lanes.
All outbound lanes of the Metropolitan Ring Road were initially closed, but were re-opened shortly before 5pm.
Traffic has slowed to a crawl from Pascoe Vale Road, a VicRoads spokesman said.
“With peak-hour approaching, we’re asking people to allow more time if they’re going to be travelling on the Ring Road,” the spokesman said.
One person has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, but the nature of their injuries is not yet known.
