A Lalor woman has been confronted by an intruder at her home who marched her to an ATM and tried to force her to withdraw money.
The 52-year-old woman arrived at her Boston Road home in Lalor to find the intruder in her kitchen on November 7 last year.
“It appears he has forced entry through a rear door of the house,” police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said.
The man asked the woman for cash but when she told him she did not have any he walked her to a nearby shopping centre ATM.
He demanded the woman withdraw cash but she managed to run to a nearby shop for help.
The man ran off but not before the woman managed to snap a photo of him on her mobile phone.
Detectives from the Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit have released the photo and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
The man is believed to be aged between 25 and 35 and is described as having a slim build and olive complexion. He was unshaven. He was wearing a grey jumper, blue track pants and a blue UFC branded baseball cap.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
