Two pupils at St Francis of Assisi Primary School in Mill Park are studying high school maths and English in after-school hours.
Fiona and Farah Amjad, in grades 3 and 4 respectively, were awarded for their advanced maths and English skills at a presentation at the University of Melbourne last week.
Fiona is studying the equivalent of year 8 English and maths, while Farah is studying English at a year 9 level and maths taught to year 10 students.
The sisters moved to Australia with their parents from the Philippines in 2007.
Three years later, they were enrolled at the Kumon Mill Park Education Centre.
They have their sights set on studying for medical degrees once they finish high school.
