BREAKING: A Broadmeadows bakery is on fire and a number of surrounding businesses are filled with smoke.
The Metropolitan Fire Brigade was called to attend to a fire in the Turkish bakery, Olsen Place Bakehouse, just before 11.30am on Wednesday.
Smoke and flames were billowing out of the rear of the bakery in Olsen Place, just off Widford Street.
Three MFB trucks were initially sent, but another six were called shortly after to help put out the blaze.
The fire is yet to be controlled.

According to MFB spokesman David Jarwood crew members on site described it as a “significant shop fire.”
Rabih Chebbo, who works at the neighbouring Middle East Meat Supply shops, said the bakery had been badly damaged.
“We could smell smoke so everyone came out into the street,” he said.
“The police, ambulance and fire crews are still here.”
The butcher and a number of surrounding businesses were also filled up with smoke, he said.
