Sunbury drink driver crashes car through fence

A 61-year-old Sunbury man registered a blood alcohol content of 0.223 per cent after driving his red Holden Cruz through a fence in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Sunbury police were called to a laneway at Brook and Evans streets about 1.30am where they found the man’s car crashed through a fence. 

The driver returned a positive breath test at the scene and was taken back to a police station where he blew 0.223 per cent. 

He is due to be charged on summons with drink driving and other traffic-related offences.
