Thomastown woman loses her car for speeding, drink driving

A Thomastown woman had her car impounded by police on Thursday night after she was caught speeding nearly 20km/h over the limit and with a blood alcohol reading of .205 per cent.

The 32-year-old was intercepted by Epping Highway Patrol on Edgars Road in Epping about 8pm after being clocked travelling at 87km/h in a 70km/h zone.

Officers then breath-tested the woman, who returned a reading more than four times the legal limit.

She was also found to be driving on a disqualified licence. She will be charged on summons to appear before court at a later date.

She told police she was on her way to pick up groceries.
