Major Collision Investigation Group detectives have charged a 27-year-old Craigieburn man in relation to a police pursuit and subsequent car crash in Preston.
The crash early on Saturday left a passenger, an 18-year-old Mernda woman, fighting for her life.
Andrew Simpson was charged with recklessly and negligently causing serious injury and evading police and bail offences.
He appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Sunday.
