Former Roxburgh Park dad missing in child row

Federal Police still have not found former Roxburgh Park resident Mazen Baioumy, who is refusing to lift a ban that prevents his Australian-born daughter leaving Egypt.

It is believed the Egyptian-born man is living in Melbourne’s north.

He is separated from his Australian wife, Amaal Finn, who is stuck in Egypt with daughter Zareen.

Ms Finn and Zareen, 5, have been prevented from leaving the country since holidaying there last year, when Mr Baioumy returned to Australia alone.

In August, a Federal Circuit Court ordered that Mr Baioumy do everything necessary to lift the travel bans against his wife and daughter so they can return to Australia.

A warrant for his arrest was issued in October.

Ms Finn’s Melbourne-based father, Graeme Finn, said his daughter and granddaughter were in hiding in Egypt.

“She has to be very, very careful wherever she goes,” Mr Finn said.

He said he believed Mr Baoiumy was living around Thornbury or further north.

Anyone with information about Mr Baioumy is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
